How to Grow: The cultivation of Indrayani broken rice is the same as that of whole Indrayani rice.

  • Soil: Prefers well-drained loamy soils rich in organic matter.
  • Climate: Requires a warm, humid climate with temperatures between 25°C to 30°C.
  • Water: Needs moderate water; fields are typically flooded during the early stages of growth.
  • Sowing: Sown in nurseries and transplanted after 20-25 days, usually during the Kharif season.
  • Harvesting: Harvested around October-November, about 120-130 days after sowing.

  • Cost-Effective: Generally cheaper than whole Indrayani rice, making it an economical option.
  • Nutritional Value: Similar to whole Indrayani rice, broken rice is high in carbohydrates and provides essential vitamins and minerals.
  • Culinary Uses: Suitable for making rice flour, porridge, and traditional dishes where the shape of the grain is not important.
