How to Grow Sugarcane for Jaggery:
- Soil: Prefers deep, well-drained loamy soils rich in organic matter.
- Climate: Requires a tropical to subtropical climate with temperatures between 20°C to 35°C.
- Water: Needs abundant water; consistent irrigation is crucial for optimal growth.
- Sowing: Sugarcane is planted using cuttings in the pre-monsoon season (February-March) or post-monsoon season (September-October).
- Harvesting: Harvested in about 10-12 months when the canes are mature.
