- Soil: Prefers well-drained loamy to clay loam soils with good fertility.
- Climate: Requires a warm, humid climate with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C.
- Water: Needs moderate water; fields are typically flooded during the early stages of growth.
- Sowing: Sown during the Kharif season (June-July) and transplanted after 20-25 days.
- Harvesting: Harvested around October-November, approximately 120-130 days after sowing.
