How to Grow: The cultivation of Kolam broken rice is the same as that of whole Kolam rice.

  • Soil: Prefers well-drained loamy to clay loam soils with good fertility.
  • Climate: Requires a warm, humid climate with temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C.
  • Water: Needs moderate water; fields are typically flooded during the early stages of growth.
  • Sowing: Sown during the Kharif season (June-July) and transplanted after 20-25 days.
  • Harvesting: Harvested around October-November, approximately 120-130 days after sowing.
