How to Grow:

  • Soil: Requires well-drained, fertile soil with good water retention capacity.
  • Climate: Prefers a warm, humid climate with temperatures between 20°C to 30°C.
  • Water: Adequate water supply is essential during the growing season. Consistent irrigation helps maintain soil moisture.
  • Sowing: Sowing is done during the Kharif season (June-July). The seeds are typically sown in nurseries and transplanted after 25-30 days.
  • Harvesting: Rice for poha is harvested when the grains are mature, usually around October-November.
